Queen's Park Singers Accompanist
Our accompanist is Daniel Chappell.
Daniel Lee Chappell is a pianist, composer, and repetiteur. He joined the Royal Academy of Music in 2026 as their Repetiteur Fellow, and previously studied at the University of Manchester, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and was a scholar at the Royal College of Music, where he completed an MMus in Composition with Distinction. He has performed in recitals at Opera Holland Park, St James' Piccadilly, Wigmore Hall, Three Choirs Festival, Lanzarote Opera Festival and Southwold Music Festival, as well as work on productions with The National Theatre, British Youth Opera, Dramatic Voices Berlin, Tête à Tête, Grimeborn Festival, Bloomsbury Opera, Melos Sinfonia, and Asyla Ensemble. His solo appearances include Schoenberg's Piano Concerto at the Waterloo Festival, and Messiaen's Oiseaux Exotiques at Cosmo Rodewald Hall, Manchester.
As a composer, he has written a number of staged works, including Io Transfigured (2015, Arts Theatre), Liturgie (2017, The Place),The Grape (2021, Opera Orchestra National Montpellier, awarded a 2021 New Music Generation Prize), and Clavigo (2024, Budapest Music Centre). He was previously composer in residence with the Kettner Society, with the support of the Marchus Trust. Upcoming composition projects include a song-cycle for counter-tenor, and a new work for community choir supported by the Making Music Foundation.
